Wing Aviation Charter Services has an opening for an experienced A&P Mechanic at our Houston Facility (KHOU).

Qualifications

  • Must hold FAA Mechanic’s Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • Ability to learn and use technical manuals.
  • Have good mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Must be able to effectively and quickly perform repairs in short notice, high pressure situations.
  • Must be able input and retrieve information from computers
  • Must be able to lift parts weighting up to 70 lbs. from ground to waist high level.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing repairs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for assuring that the company goals for safety and quality are met by continual compliance with the Company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting through the appropriate process any safety, security or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations.
  2. Ensure airworthiness of Company aircraft by performing necessary maintenance, inspections, preventative maintenance and/or alterations in accordance with the current manufactures maintenance manuals, the Company GMM and all applicable aviation regulations.
  3. Mechanics are responsible to perform work assigned to them. Such work includes, but is not limited to servicing, and the performance of routine maintenance, as well as, nonroutine maintenance on company aircraft, in addition to, the replacement of components or related parts of the aircraft.
  4. Perform miscellaneous duties as necessary to service aircraft.
  5. Perform receiving inspection on incoming parts and components.
  6. Understanding and following all paperwork procedures to ensure accurate documentation and tracking of work performed.
  7. Execute all forms as needed by the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program.
  8. Accomplish all work in accordance with the Wing Aviation General Maintenance Manual, RVSM Manual, and FAA approved data.
  9. Ensure all labor and materials used are properly accounted for and allocated to the job in an economical manner.
  10. Keep the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, and see that all safety instructions are obeyed.
  11. Participate in company training activities as requested.
  12. Mechanics working on aircraft or related parts of the aircraft are responsible to perform work outlined on the applicable work forms in accordance with the manufacturer’s maintenance manuals as well as the Wing Aviation approved maintenance program. They are also responsible to sign for the accomplishment of such work on applicable work forms or records. The mechanic will be responsible for the work he performs.
  13. The mechanic shall perform the work of a lead mechanic in leading and directing the work of other employees as directed by the Director of Maintenance or Chief of Maintenance.
  14. To perform the duties of Delegated Inspector when recommended by the Director of Maintenance and appointed by the Chief Inspector.
  15. Responsible for the training and workmanship of any trainee assigned to him.
  16. When delegated inspection authority by the Chief Inspector, he will perform the duties outlined for Delegated Inspector and when performing said duties shall not inspect any item upon which he/she has worked.
